Peppermint Crunch Puppy Chow

Peppermint Crunch Puppy Chow

 

Makes 5 cups

  1.     5 cups Rice Chex cereal
  2.     10 ounces melting white chocolate OR vanilla flavored Almond Bark
  3.     1 cup crushed candy canes
  4.     1 cup powdered sugar

How To Do :-
  • Pour 5 cups of Chex Cereal into a large bowl.  Melt white chocolate/almond bark according to the package directions.  Pour melted chocolate over cereal, stirring and folding until the cereal is completely covered. Fold in the crushed candy canes
  • In a large zipped top bag or covered container, add the powdered sugar. Pour the chocolate covered cereal/candy canes into the large bag or container.  Seal the bag or container and shake until all the cereal is coated with the powdered mixture.
  • Discard excess powder and enjoy!
  • Store at room temperature up to 2 weeks, if it lasts that long!

For the crackers:

  1. Cream together 1/2 cup (one stick of butter) with 1/2 cup of dark brown sugar
  2. add 1/2 cup of peanut butter
  3. 1/2 tsp salt
  4. 1 tsp baking powder
  5. 1 1/4  cups of whole wheat flour
  • finally add in 2 tbsp milk and 2 tbsp honey
  • shape into a ball and chill, for at least 30 minutes
  • roll out to desired thickenss
  • cut into squares (actually any shape is okey dokey)
  • prick with fork
  • bake on lined (or well greased) baking sheet @350F for 15 minutes (a bit longer if your cookies are thicker)
WATCH closely - I burned my first batch:(

Lyonnaise Garlic and Herb Cheese with Homemade thin wheat Crackers


For the crackers:

  1. 1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
  2. 1/2 tsp salt
  3. 4 tbsp butter
How To Do :-
  • combine the flour and salt - and then cut in the butter
  • add 1 tbsp agave (honey would also be good)
  • 1/4 cup of milk (you may need to add an extra tbsp if too dry)
  • and 1 tsp vanilla
  • mix until just combined
  • roll out to about 1/4 - 1/8 inch
  • cut using a pizza cutter
  • bake on a parchment lined sheet @400F for 8 minutes
  • I flipped mine after four minutes so that they would brown evenly

watch them carefully they will burn

Homemade Ritz Crackers

Homemade Ritz Crackers


  1. 2 cups of Ap flour
  2. 3 tsp baking powder
  3. 1 tbsp sugar
  4. 1 tsp salt
  5. 1 stick of butter divided {I used salted}
  6. 2/3 cup of whole milk
How To Do :-
  • In the bowl of a food processor
  • add the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt
  • Pulse
  • Add 6 tbsp of cold butter
  • {cut into 1 tbsp size pieces}
  • Pulse
  • Add the milk a little at a time
  • Pulse - and the dough will begin to form a ball
  • on a lightly floured surface
  • roll out the dough as thin as you can
  • {I did not roll my quite thin enough}
  • cut into shapes
  • prick with a fork
  • bake on a parchment lined sheet for about 10 minutes @400
  • while they are cooking melt the remaining 2 tbsp of butter
  • as soon as the crackers are golden remove them from the oven
  • and brush with the melted butter


I prefer wheat thins myself,
but the kids LOVE their ritz,
{these are pretty darn good}
and tomorrow it's all about the kids

Homemade Cheese Crackers

Homemade Cheese Crackers

For the crackers:

  1. 2 cups of whole wheat flour
  2. 6 ounces of sharp white cheddar (you could use yellow) grated
  3. 3/4 cup of milk
  4. 2 tbsp of butter
  5. 2 tsp of sea salt
How To Do :-
  1. in the bowl of a food processor combine the flour and salt
  2. add the cheese and pulse until well combined
  3. add the butter - pulse until you have a course meal
  4. while pulsing gradually add the milk
  5. this will form the dough
  6. roll out to about 1/4 inch thickness (on a well floured surface)
  7. cut into squares (I did owls as well)
  8. bake on an UN-greased sheet @ 425 for 8 minutes
  9. even better than those other crackers
